Gard Consultancy Servicers specialises in conducting external quality assessments (EQAs) of the effectiveness of existing internal audit services to determine how well they are doing at conforming to the standards that regulate the internal audit profession. We have extensive knowledge of the standards gained by carrying out EQAs and from applying the standards operationally whilst managing internal audit services.

In the public sector we assess internal audit services for their compliance to the Public Sector Internal Audit Standards (PSIAS), and where applicable, to the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy’s (CIPFA) Local Government Application Note (LGAN).

For the private, social housing, education and not for profit sectors, we assess internal audit services for their compliance to Institute of Internal Auditors’ International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) for internal auditors. Gard Consultancy Services has conducted over thirty-five external quality assessments and would welcome the opportunity to undertake an EQA of your internal audit service.
